What is hydrotherapy?
Hydrotherapy uses the natural properties of water to treat neurological and musculoskeletal disorders in a complementary way to other physiotherapy treatments. Hydrotherapy treatment at ANAPLASI takes place under the supervision of specially trained physiotherapists. Wherever necessary they are present in the pool with the patient.
We employ cutting-edge technology to exploit and enhance the physical properties of water, i.e. buoyancy, hydrostatic pressure and water resistance in order to achieve our therapeutic goals faster, easier, and more efficiently.
The same technology is incorporated in special couches inside the pool to achieve the maximum therapeutic effect in specific patient groups, such as quadriplegics who suffer from spasticity and rigidity.
The buoyancy of the water and the personalized program implemented by the therapist allows rapid mobilization with stabilization of extremities and torso, facilitating retraining in control of posture and movement. Supported by the water the patient can undergo exercises he would otherwise find difficult.
The therapeutic temperature aids muscle relaxation in all musculoskeletal disorders and the various water jets are employed for pleasant and effective massage.
Thus, specialist physiotherapy in the therapeutic pool of ANAPLASI becomes a unique, pleasant and completely safe experience.
Therapeutic Pool
Our unique therapeutic pool situated on the ground floor of the Centre has three depths and is heated to 34 - 35 ° C.
It is housed in a self-contained unit, built exacting specifications in which the air conditioning, ventilation and dehumidification are regulated and controlled through a central computer.
On one side of the facility, a large window-wall has been created; covered by special filters it allows the passage of abundant natural light without glare. A special membrane ensures privacy while allowing the patient to enjoy the peaceful and relaxing view of the garden.
