What is pulmonary or respiratory system rehabilitation?
Pulmonary Rehabilitation is a multifaceted therapeutic intervention that complements pharmaceutical therapy and is aimed at patients with chronic respiratory diseases.
It is particularly beneficial to patients with COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), but also helps patients with other respiratory conditions, e.g., cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis, causing shortness of breath, retention of secretions, or limiting exercise tolerance.
The Trans-Disciplinary Pulmonary Rehabilitation team of ANAPLASI includes a pulmonologist and a physiatrist with training in stress management, a physiotherapist, a clinical psychologist, and a clinical nutritionist.
