Evgenios Trivizas, the nation’s storyteller, and his long-time collaborator Maria Koutsiouba, visited ANAPLASI, “the Temple of Rehabilitation”. He came bearing stories first for his “driller”, our President and Director of Neurosurgery at Henry Dunant Hospital, Christos Georgopoulos. We were overcome with joy to see him. He admired the NTMS, which stimulates speech and movement in patients. Then he met Mrs. Georgia, lying on a robotic bed, who told him that from the first month of her hospitalization, she began to walk. “I used to read your stories to my son,” she told him, and he replied, “Now your son can read my stories to you.” In ANAPLASI, he saw heroes from his stories. There was much warmth and affection, and before leaving, he signed his books with characteristically idiomatic dedications. As he promised, he will be back!
