....welcome to the first steps towards recovery.

With the benefit of our thirty-year clinical experience at leading hospitals in Greece, the rest of Europe and North America, we have created a unique, purpose built, in-patient facility which implements new clinical innovations in in-patient care in a friendly and relaxing environment.

Our patients and their relatives are given a warm welcome by our experienced administrative and clinical staff, which instils in them a feeling of optimism and confidence in their recovery.

The vast majority of our patients will have already seen one of our senior specialists in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR specialist, Physiatrist) before admission. On arrival, our chief physician assesses any concomitant medical problems and liaises with the patients’ personal physician(s) to ensure continuity of medical care.

Under the guidance of the PMR specialist, the patient is assessed by the members of the Trans-disciplinary Rehabilitation Team and a program of therapy constructed. For the in-patient, therapy sessions are scheduled to include weekends and may take place several times a day, preventing complications in the bed-bound patient and boosting the initial stages of rehabilitation.

The presence of a physician on-site 24-hrs a day, seven days a week, ensures that even an unforeseen event can be managed swiftly and effectively.

The purpose-built in-patient unit consists of single, two and three-bedded rooms with adjoining bathroom all designed with the needs of both the highly- dependent and the autonomous patient in mind. Spacious bathrooms allow the wheelchair bound patient to be truly self-caring while facilitating nursing care and assistance where necessary.

All hospital rooms and the high-dependency unit (H.D.U.) are equipped with state-of-the -art electronically controlled robotic beds. The flexible electronic control system is easy to use and the patient himself can change his own position as he takes the first steps toward independence.

The functions include:

  • all conventional bed positions
  • conversion into a normal chair for sitting or as an aid to standing;
  • orthostatic position;
  • unique microclimate technology of the mattresses allowing it to inflate selected air-cells according to individual patient weight distribution;
  • optional features of chest vibration and programmed lateral rotation, aid staff in the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers, respiratory infections, and deep venous thrombosis-conditions which commonly complicate and delay recovery of the bed-bound patient.

In addition to the televisions in each room there are facilities for patients to relax playing popular board games or undertaking creative pastimes in the communal area of each unit.

The ward provides all the necessary facilities for initial rehabilitation assessment and therapy.

The patient then progresses to therapy in the various specialized departments while continuing to enjoy a high level of nursing care.

On discharge from the ward the patient is able to continue therapy as an out-patient.
